Was going to blog something. Well I did, but deleted it. Not the first time. Not entirely sure why, but I am still unable to to express myself this way Perhaps there has been too much over the last twenty years and it's still playing on my mind?
Life is better now than it has been for a very long time.
Life is too short. Thinking of a friend of many of my friends right now.

After a long tiring day at work I am reminded my quest for a decent prosthetic leg is entirely reasonable. Standing at work for seven hours is tiring even amongst the normal two-legged retail employees. Eager to work full-time again. Impossible to do so at the moment. I am only asking for a decent leg-is that so unreasonable? I still have no answer as to what I am entitled to on the NHS.
Will do whatever it takes to achieve what I need. I have no choice.

A brief timeline of events.
March 2010: Stubbed/gashed my big toe quite badly.
March 26th: A severe infection had spread rapidly (diabetes and having my spleen removed as a teenager exacerbated this). Seriously ill, there was no alternative but to have my right leg amputated above the knee.
July 2010: Had my first prosthetic leg fitted. Made very good progress with walking again.
November 2010: The first prosthetic no longer fitted. Was agreed a new leg was needed, with a view to walking on a free knee.
February 2011: After numerous delays-for many reasons-my second prosthetic was made. This is the one I still use on a daily basis.
December 2011: Finally have a free knee fitted. This was unsuccessful. The technician was unable to fit it correctly.
March 2011: After several frustrating appointments at the prosthetic clinic e-mailed my MP seeking advice regarding prosthetic leg entitlement on the NHS
Between March and today there has been much communication both written and by e-mail with my MP,NHS managers,GP and others. I will detail this another time.
My question of entitlement has never been fully answered. No-one seems to know.
I am not an exceptional case,I am not seeking anything more than any RAK should.
We are all entitled to live our lives to the best of our ability, there are excellent prosthetic legs availble.I feel anyone determined to put in the very hard work required to walk again should be allowed to do so.
At the prosthetic clinic,in the gym, there are posters on the walls of several Paralympians. On each poster it says...
....."If you have the tenacity,we have the technology"
Yes I do...And,yes please.
